Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to Casa Grande Union High School and to the beginning of an exciting and challenging school year. By way of introduction, my name is Kerrie Perez, formally known as Kerrie Gordon.I am excited to be teaching at Casa Grande Union High School, and I look forward to seeing returning students as well as meeting new students and their families.
As an Academic Resource Teacher, I will be providing your child support by continuing to develop behavioral, social, and academic skills. I will be helping them to progress emotionally and teaching them to interact effectively in everyday social situations. I will also work to prepare students for daily working life after they graduate. I look forward to working with your child in providing individualized specially designed instruction to assist in achieving their highest academic potential.
As the 504 Coordinator, I will provide support to students with 504 Services. I will consult regularly with general education teachers and facilitate evaluation/eligibility determination for 504 plans, develop 504 plans, and monitor the implementation of Section 504 plans. I will work with teachers, agencies, and medical professionals to ensure the implementation of Section 504 procedures in the school’s public program and is successful and operating in compliance with federal and state regulations.
One key component toward a successful year is communication between school and home. There are several ways to facilitate this communication. Classroom progress reports will be sent home quarterly. Annually, we will meet for the 504 meetings, and you may contact me during regular school hours via telephone or e-mail at
[email protected]. Please allow a 24-hour time frame to return phone calls and/or emails.
I am very happy to be a continued part of the CGUHS family and I look forward to building a relationship with each of you that will foster a year of growth and learning for your child.
Respectfully,
Kerrie Perez, Special Education Teacher and 504 Coordinator
