Counseling Department

Counseling services are designed to serve the needs of individual students in preparation of academic schedules, long range school programs, vocational or college planning, course adjustments, and personal matters.

Mission

Mission
Our mission is to maximize the potential of all students by providing a comprehensive, developmental counseling program addressing academic growth, personal/social development, and career development of all our students.

Philosophy & Beliefs

  • All students have dignity and worth.
  • All students have the right to participate in the school counseling program.
  • All students’ specific individual needs are considered in planning and implementing the school counseling program.
  • The school counseling program shall be managed by state-certified counselors.
  • The student and parent(s) are responsible for monitoring the student’s educational progress with the assistance of a professional school counselor.

Program

  • Utilizes community resources.
  • Uses data to drive program development and evaluation.
  • Is based on specified goals and developmental student competencies.
  • Is planned and coordinated with other representatives of the school and community.

School Counselors/Success Coaches

  • Abide by the professional school counseling ethics as advocated by the American School Counselor Association.
  • Participate in professional development activities essential to maintain a quality school counseling program.
