My name is Arvin John Valiente E. Maruya from the Philippines. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a major in Social Studies and a master’s degree in Education with a major in Educational Administration, both earned from the Ateneo de Davao University, Davao City, Philippines.
Before moving to Casa Grande, Arizona, I taught elementary Social Studies for one (1) year and junior high school Social Studies for seven (7) years in Davao City, Philippines. I was also able to serve as Student Activities Coordinator in my previous school.
As an educator, I firmly believe that my mission is not just to share information but also to take part in student (character) formation. Having been raised and employed in a Jesuit institution for many years, I truly value the importance of having a holistic education which nurtures the mind (cognitive), heart (affective), and hands (psychomotor).
I am truly grateful to be part of Casa Grande Union High School.
