Mr. Smyers has been involved in the field of education for the past fifteen years. Prior to coming to Vista Grande High School, he started his career at Casa Grande High School, creating a “Mythology and Short Story/Novel” class that is a great alternative to common ELA courses. Before that, he was a successful Assistant Manager for ten years in a greasy service deli, slicing Head Cheese and Limburger for many patrons.
He has always been heavily involved with comic books and action figures for most of his life, playing mainly with the Star Wars and Masters of the Universe properties. His claim to fame is his online persona as a toymaker (yes, he makes toys), as well as a part-time photographer under the pseudonym, “Jeremy”. Mr. Smyers feels Vista Grande High School is an amazing institution full of tradition and energy. He highly recommends that students find ways to become more involved with Vista Grande High School---school will be as exciting (or as boring) as you choose to make it. He also enjoys quarantining and is an avid mask-wearer.
