Welcome

I am from the "Queen City of the South" in Philippines, specifically, Cebu City. This is a place where the most famous charcoal-roasted whole pig, lechon, can be found.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

(2016-2018)
I have been teaching for approximately eight (8) years. After graduation in 2016, I automatically landed my first teaching job at Sisters of Mary School, an all- girls school ran by nuns. I taught English 7, 8, and 10 in a span of two (2) years from 2016-2018. The spiritual-boosting activities available for teachers is one of the most remarkable events I can remember. I can also remember having a concert for the benefit of our kids there in which I was part of a singing and dance production. As a coach, we grabbed the overall champion for Quiz Bowl with my Grade 12 students last 2017. The bottom-line is that this school is the first school who accepted me and molded me to become one of the most competent teachers not only locally but globally.

(2018-2023)
The next teaching experience I had was my 5-year stint (2018-2023) at one of the public schools in Cebu City, Philippines, Basak Community High School. When I arrived at the school, I was assigned to become the teacher of Practical Research I and II, Creative Writing, and English for Academic and Professional Purposes. My service towards the public school opened my talents to new heights. Aside from teaching subjects not in line with my major, such as Empowerment Technologies, I was a coordinator as well with our school's important data management. I became an ICT Coordinator, Schools Monitoring, Evaluations, Assessments Coordinator, Senior Scouts Coordinator. Aside from that, I was happy to become one of the resource speakers for our 16-school district city to speak about techniques in teaching Grade 7 students. During the pandemic, I was chosen to become a head writer of English for Academic and Professional Purposes module in which the module my team wrote was intended for the 16 districts in Cebu City. The key takeaway I experienced in public teaching was that I need to go out of my shell and explore my other talents. In public teaching, I also experienced that being a teacher is a "calling" and not a profession itself.

(2023-Present)
The most challenging professional step I made was to apply to one of the schools in Arizona, United States of America, Casa Grande Union High School. I was accepted. Since I arrived late, I was re-assigned to Vista Grande High School. All sacrifices are worth it. With the 2-day flight with no sleep, the experience was excellent in my new school. In the first semester, I handled Credit Recovery classes and, by the second semester, I handled English 10, Music Appreciation, and Edgenuity classes.
