Hello! My name is Jovahn Delcid. I serve as a School Counselor/Success Coach. I’ve been dedicated to the education field since 2018, starting as an Interventionist and later transitioning to school counseling. As a proud alum of Vista Grande High School, it’s a meaningful experience to work in the same environment that shaped my own journey.
Following high school, I attended Central Arizona College (CAC) where I earned an Associate of Arts degree then transferred to the University of Arizona majoring in Psychology with a minor in Latin American Studies. I later pursued a master’s degree in School Counseling from Grand Canyon University, equipping me to guide and support students on their paths.
In addition to my role as a counselor, I’m also the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach here at VGHS. If I’m not in my office, you’ll likely find me on the field working with our team. Outside of work and coaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife, daughter, and dog, as well as with friends and family. I’m an avid Boston Red Sox fan, enjoy golfing, love watching movies and shows, and appreciate nearly every genre of music.
Helping students navigate high school, especially in the same classrooms where I once sat, is incredibly rewarding. I’m passionate about supporting the community I call home, and I understand the unique challenges of being a high school student in a small town like Casa Grande. I’m here to help, so please don’t hesitate to reach out whenever you need support.
