Federal Programs

The purpose of Title I is to help eligible children achieve the state's academic standards. This is accomplished through supplemental programs that consist of instructional services, instructional support services and increased involvement of parents in their children's education.

Title I funding is determined by our district's free/reduced lunch count, however supplemental services are provided for students based upon academic need. These services are provided by highly qualified personnel.

All of CGUHSD's schools will become Title I Schoolwide schools beginning SY 2014-2015. A school with a Title I Schoolwide program may consolidate and use funds, together with other Federal, State, and local funds, in order to upgrade the entire educational program of a school that serves an eligible school attendance area in which not less than 40 percent of the children are from low-income families, or not less than 40 percent of the children enrolled n the school are from such families. See Section 1114 of Title I, Part A, for more details.

Parent Involvement

Parents are encouraged to be involved at their child's school. There are many opportunities to participate including, but not limited to: advisory counsels, parent education classes, priority team participation, and many others. Please contact your site principal for more information.
