Derek Nolan was recognized on Tuesday, March 7, as the CGUHS March “Rotary Student of the Month” during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Derek’s accomplishments and activities include being a member of the Robotics Club, Students for the Exploration of Space, National Honor Society, CAVIT, and Honor Roll, and a volunteer and finalist in the Scholastic Science Fair. He has a G.P.A. of 4.11 (on a 4.0 Scale) and remains in the top 10% of his senior class. Derek plans to attend either the University of Arizona or Stony Brook University and focus his energies on Chemical Engineering or Biology. His supportive family includes Jeffrey Sieveking (father), Nicole Sieveking (mother), Crissy Messenger (aunt), and numerous other family members.
