(CGUHS) Valia Kaliotzakis was recognized Tuesday, May 2, as the Rotary Student of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting. Valia is one of CGUHS’s brightest and best scholars of the year. She is a self-driven young lady with big plans for her life after high school. Valia is academically well-prepared and well-rounded in her social and family life. She is ranked 12th in her class. Valia is deeply committed and laser-focused on academic excellence. She is a school leader and excels in other areas including Varsity Swim Team, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Key Club, Casa Grande Youth Alliance (Vice Chair), Softball Team, AP/Honors, STEM, Biotechnology, and Science Technology. Valia earns academic awards every semester and has completed over 300 volunteer hours as an NAU AmeriCorps member. She was named Most Improved Player for both swim and softball teams, among many more accolades to her credit. After high school, Valia plans to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Canyon University (GCU) in Molecular & Cellular Biology.
