(CGUHS) Alexis Alvarez was recognized Tuesday, February 6, as the Rotary Student of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting. Alexis’ grade point average exceeds 3.5. She is ahead on her required academic credits. Alexis is exceptionally proud of her learning experiences and is truly appreciative of the challenges she has faced in academia and athletics. She has exceeded excellence and is an award-winning JROTC Marksman, Varsity Wrestling Invitational Champion, Distinguished Scholar, and National Honor Society member. Alexis is a United States Naval Academy candidate where she plans to explore her areas of interest in the medical field. She is truly appreciative of mentors in her life such as Mr. Jesus Flores (JROTC), Mr. Carlos Hernandez (Wrestling Coach), and Mr. Mark Luna (Wrestling Coach), along with her family and classmates. Alexis is destined for leadership. Her family includes Jesse Marquez (dad), Connie Alvarez (mom), Serina Juarez (sister), and Victor Marquez (brother).
