(PACE) Successful business owner and barber, Mr. Tommie Clardy Jr., talked to PACE students on Monday, February 5. Mr. Clardy Jr. started his career over 30 years ago when he decided he wanted to cut hair and have control over his earnings based off the work that he put in. He takes pride in inspiring and sharing his craft with others. His success has brought him endless opportunities to give back to the community he serves. His experiences in the barber and beauty industry has allowed him to develop skills in customer service, sales, marketing, public speaking, business management, community engagement, and activism. His advice to the students were to take advantage of what is in front of you, learn how to communicate, read business books and articles about what you are passionate about, stay away from things that are negative, and to love what you do.
