Casa Grande Union High School District News Article

Superintendent Letter

Dear Families,

Unfortunately, another senseless and unfortunate incident has occurred that resulted in the loss of lives of children in schools in Texas. The CGUHSD staff and leadership are saddened by what occurred in Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District. We want to assure you that the school and district leadership will continue to work with the Casa Grande Police Department to support safe schools. Recently, we completed “Active Shooter” lockdown procedures at Casa Grande Union High School and Vista Grande High School. The CG Police Department and local response agencies provided a lens of support and feedback for each site’s trial run. ?Facilitating these trainings, with the addition of law enforcement and local emergency agencies' expertise, we are better equipped to do what is necessary if the need arises.

If there are students who need extra support during this difficult time, please have them visit the? site School Counselors Department and/or the School Social Workers. They will be glad to assist your children that may need help in processing this news.

Sincerely,
Dr. Anna Battle
