Izaiah Hemmings, son of Alexis Vasquez, is Vista Grande's March Rotary Student of the Month. Izaiah is truly an exceptional student that is hardworking and actively involved in all areas of Vista Grande life. Since his freshman year, he has participated in both Cross Country and Track. He has been the captain of both sports for his junior and senior years. He is also a member of the AP Club, Key Club, and is the Secretary of National Honor Society.  In his junior year, he represented Vista Grande at the Boys State of Arizona leadership conference in Flagstaff, Arizona. During Boys State, he won the election for County Attorney. Izaiah is ranked within the top 2% of his senior class with a 4.5 cumulative weighted GPA. He has been offered over $170,000 in scholarships and is a semi-finalist for the Dorrance Scholarship. Izaiah will attend the University of Arizona where he was awarded the Wildcat Distinction Award of $40,000; the second-highest scholarship award that UArizona offers.
