(CGUHS) Grace Marie Franks was selected as one of the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Students of the Month. Grace Marie was nominated by her CTE JROTC teacher, GySgt. Flores. “Grace Franks has always displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and ambition. In addition to her excellent scholastic accomplishments of maintaining a 3.96 GPA, she has proven her leadership ability by participating in many Marine Corps JROTC functions. In the past year, she has exemplified a can-do attitude in which she has been awarded two national awards. The first award is the American Veterans JROTC Medal. To receive this medal, the cadet must demonstrate diligence in the discharge of duties and willingness to serve school, community, and nation. The second award was the Naval Reserve Association JROTC Medal. To receive this medal, the cadet must demonstrate outstanding service and dedication to serving the school, community and nation. These awards are only given to one student within the school. Grace Franks will be graduating this year as a Junior. This is a great accomplishment and just shows the dedication and ambition that will help her succeed in whatever endeavors she might pursue.” Grace Marie’s parent is Ms. Angela Geen of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in thirteen different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor. For past recipients, visit www.cguhsd.org/CTE.aspx.
