(CGUHS) As part of the culmination of the momentum unit, Ms. Ruby Armada's AP Physics class conducted the Egg Drop Competition. Students worked in pairs to design and construct a device that protected a raw egg from breaking when it was dropped vertically from the highest point (CGUHS bridge). The design had to have minimal mass and dimensions as well as the shortest flight time. To build the device, several physics principles were considered to reduce the impact on the egg. The main concepts to consider were gravity, free fall, air resistance, terminal velocity, momentum, and impulse. The best design was awarded to Isaac Hawking and Maddox Halley.
