Stepping Out From Behind The Counter Award

(VGHS) Mr. Sylvester Amorsolo, Science Teacher, received the Stepping Out From Behind The Counter Award. Principal Vance Danzy says, "Mr. Amorsolo has shown so much Vista Grande pride. He is a phenomenal Department Chair and really cares about the subject he teaches. One of the biggest things is being present for our students and teaching them every day. So, when one of his fellow teachers in his department is gone, he takes the time to set up the subs for that class within the department with no hesitation. This is so helpful when the morning is hectic. I appreciate how he takes the initiative to do that. To me, this is leadership. Another great spotlight is how Mr. Amorsolo's department went above and beyond during Meet Your Teacher Night. The Science Department had cool interactive science stations that were entertaining. The planning of the activities and time they all spent showing the groups of people how they worked made it fun and was so wonderful to see. We appreciate all you do!"
