Casa Grande Union High School’s (CGUHS) Early Childhood Education and Culinary Arts students competed in the FCCLA State Leadership Conference, March 28-30, in Tucson, Arizona. Over 1,100 students from all over the state of Arizona competed in leadership events in Early Childhood Education, Culinary Arts, Fashion & Design, and College & Career Readiness. Early Childhood Education awards included: Darian Leon [2nd Place] ECE Literature: Story Stretching; Christine Petrin & Charlie Melton [Gold Medal] Focus on Children; and Noe Ortiz [Silver Medal] Teach and Train. Culinary Arts students represented the district for the first time in many years in the following events: Ethan Martinez-Mystery Basket; Sean Price & Saijan White-Chicken Fabrication; Blake Stone & Jose Chavarin-Mise en Place Challenge; and Angelina Warren-Cake Decorating.
