Vista Grande High School (VGHS) Marine Corps JROTC Marksmanship Team traveled to Peoria, Arizona, on Saturday, April 2, to participate in the First Annual Arizona National Rifle Association 3-Position Sporter Marksmanship Air Rifle Competition. Team members (left to right) Zachary Carlin, Erin Swift, Ryan McDonald, Joel Huber, Joshua Haro, Alexzander Neal, Jordan Hernandez, Jade Blakeman, Master Sergeant Jorge Rico (instructor) were up against 10 teams. Teams competing were from all over the state and California. Though many teams and their members were far more experienced than the Vista Grande group of new shooters, this could not be surmised based on how well they performed.
