Mr. Jovahn Delcid has made tremendous impacts in the lives of Vista Grande High School (VGHS) students. His heart and soul have been with Casa Grande Union High School District (CGUHSD) since his adolescent days. He is a graduate of VGHS and, therefore, relates to the students exceptionally well. I recall seeing the enthusiasm in his eyes when he visited with me about a possible change he introduced. That is what a Superintendent wants to see in the eyes of educators; excitement, enthusiasm, and desire to create positive change in students he serves. Jovahn is one of the VGHS school counselors. Educators who lead with respect and build relationships will have the greatest success with high school students. School Counselors around the country are working feverishly to ensure students are placed in the proper classes, the course load for students is student-centered, and students are setting realistic goals, which instill hope for the future. Stepping up and stepping out to do more is in Jovahn’s nature. From planning the newly implemented Open House to attending the feeder schools to register our incoming students, we can count on Jovahn every day. We are proud to have Mr. Delcid on our CGUHSD team!
