(CGUHS) On Wednesday, April 24, the No. 17 Cougars (10-9) defeated No. 16 Goodyear Desert Edge 8-3 in a 5A Conference play-in game securing them a spot in the state tournament, the first time since 2019. Brianna Sanchez had two (2) hits and a no hitter into the 7th inning and earned 250+ career strikeouts. McKayla Wallace had a solo homerun.
