Scholarship: Husband and Wife Law Team, are committed to increasing awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence which is why this year, they are providing the Arrive Alive, Don’t Drink and Drive Scholarship.  They have 5 categories to enter and a winner from each category will receive $1,000. Stop by guidance for the scholarship. Due April 2nd.

Athletes all physicals, documents and fees ARE DUE NOW FOR spring sports.  Remember no clearance no participation.    

Central AZ College will be re-scheduling the placement test that was to take place March 1. All students who have already signed up are asked to see Ms. Baker as soon as possible to confirm their paperwork and computer settings.

Any Juniors who need to turn in their Pre-registration sheets for next year please give them to Ms. Patricia in the Guidance department.

The Kiwanis Scholarship is due February 28th. Be sure to stop by the guidance department for an application.

Tryouts will be held Feb. 27th for VG Mascot -TRYOUT Packet from Mrs. Salcido-Grigg.  

Staff Pat Miller is looking for 2-4 volunteers to help teach volleyball to adults March 20th from 10-12. mailto:[email protected] 

Congratulations to VG’s SkillsUSA Chapter who competed this weekend and received Outstanding Chapter and a bid to State! The following students placed and will be representing VG at State in April:
Technical Theatre – 2nd Place – Team Members: Austin Frazee. Adriana Favela, Reanne Heath and Keara Normile  Customer Service – 1st Place – Nicole Umadhay, 2nd Place – Keara Normile.  Extemporaneous Speech – 2nd Place Aaliyas Thompson, 3rd Place – Alexander McQueen.  Job Demonstration – 1st Place – Cassandra Robinette .  Welding – 3rd Place – Austin Sims.  Outstanding Chapter Presentation – Kadie VanZile
Tardies
 
Rule of the Week:
Parents may NOT call the attendance office to excuse a tardy. Students arriving late to school should go directly to class. Since instructional time is priority, it is necessary that students be in class and are prepared for the lesson to begin when the tardy bell rings. Students will be considered tardy if they are not in their classroom when the tardy bell rings. Failure to be in class ten (10) minutes after the start of class will constitute an absence. Students will be assigned to Saturday School for every tardy after the 3rd tardy in the same class each semester (Example: Saturday School will be given on the 4th tardy and then every subsequent tardy after that.)   Page 8 of handbook
