(CGUHS) On Saturday, October 30, the Pride of Casa Grande traveled to Tucson and competed in the Ironwood Ridge Marching Festival. The group finished in 1st Place with a sweep of all caption awards. They received awards for Outstanding Music Performance, Visual Performance, General Effect, Percussion, and Color Guard.
Students also competed in individual solos and small ensembles. Awards are given to the top three students in each category:

Cooper Hancock - 2nd Place - Piano Solo
Manuel Peralta - 2nd Place - Sax Solo
Sax Quartet - 3rd Place - Woodwind Ensemble (Corina Hibbs, Dexter Valenzuela, Alex Nieto, Mylee Watahomigie)
Dominic Loya - 3rd Place - Brass Solo
Danika Liebhart - 3rd Place - Guard Solo
Lily-Anne Merriman - 2nd Place - Guard Solo
Zach Erwin - 1st Place - Guard Solo
In two weeks, the Cougars are headed to the state championships as the number 1 seed.
