The Casa Grande Union High School (CGUHS) FFA Chapter was awarded the Gold ranking of the Superior and National Chapter Program which makes this the fourth year in a row. Two of those years, the chapter has been named Arizona's Chapter of the Year. This summer, at the State Leadership Conference, the eight chapters who received Gold will compete for the title, Chapter of the Year. It is their hope to be selected again as the number one chapter in Arizona. This is a year-long process which starts with a dedicated officer team and amazing members who have planned and carried out 15 activities that focus on growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture within the chapter members and community. A 23-page application is submitted to the Arizona FFA which describes and goes into great detail the activities carried out throughout the year. Applications are judged and Gold Chapters are then able to compete on the national level. CGUHS was privileged to have been a 2020 National Finalist and hope to be able to do so again. The Cougars are advised by Casey Farnsworth, CTE Agriscience Teacher. Visit their webpage at www.cguhsd.org/cgFFA.aspx.
