Hello, my name is Kelly Blunk and I am the School Psychologist at Vista Grande High School.
I am a native Arizonan born in Tucson, raised in Yuma, and now living in the Valley. In 2002, I obtained my Bachelor's degree at Arizona State University in General Studies where I received a scholarship to attend the University of Southern Mississippi School of Psychology Ph.D. program. Following Hurricane Katrina, I decided to return to Arizona with my Master of Science degree in School Psychology in 2006.
When I returned from Mississippi to Yuma, I worked briefly as a Clinical Liaison and Counselor in the mental health system and then moved to the Greater Metropolitan Phoenix area to take a position as a School Psychologist in the Coolidge Unified School District. I quickly learned that I enjoyed new and different challenges and so have also worked in Queen Creek Unified School District, Phoenix Union High School District, Apache Junction Unified School District, and Tempe Union High School District before joining the CGUHSD team in 2017.
It is fulfilling for me to work with students, teachers, and families as a team to help students become more comfortable in their social and school settings. I have strong beliefs and feelings that I can support students as individuals, family members, and members of society.
Students and families should feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns via email or phone. Further, if you would like to meet either virtually or in-person, please complete this
