Hello, my name is Darci Torres, a Speech Language Pathology Assistant for the Casa Grande School District. I am a Casa Grande native and moved to Tempe after high school to attend Arizona State University. I graduated ASU with a Bachelor's degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences and immediately got a job in the Phoenix High School District working with Ridge/Zeller Therapy. I have a passion for working with high school students and I brought that passion to CGUHSD in 2012. I have been working with my supervisor, Jim Ludlow, since I was hired. There is just something so amazingly rewarding about seeing a student successfully transition from high school to post-graduation success and providing speech therapy services has helped me to be a part of each kid's transition.
I am currently studying to take my GRE in order to attend a Master's program for Speech & Hearing Sciences. I absolutely LOVE being a SLP-A but I feel I will be able to have more of a voice in the disability community as a Speech/Language Pathologist.
My husband is my high school sweetheart and we have two crazy and amazing little girls (6 and 2). We love family time, though most outings turn into adventures that require multiple changes of clothes or extra hugs and kisses!
The Casa Grande community has helped to raise me into the amazing therapist I am today and I love being able to say thank you to CG by being a small part of our students' success.
