(CGUHS) Ms. Tumanda’s Earth Science classes learned the different stages of the life cycle of a star wherein we relate it to the human life span, created a simple demonstration activity of nuclear fusion which powers stars, and simulated a simple supernova explosion. On August 25, students created a poster identifying and describing the different stages of the life cycle of a star. This activity was done in pairs or partners. Some of the student's output is displayed in the "Student's Output Corner" to boost motivation. This activity helped them understand the different stages of a star's life cycle, from birth to death, and the factors that influence these stages. On August 28, students created a simple demonstration of nuclear fusion using a balloon filled with water in the lab. Air is a great way to illustrate how stars produce energy. This hands-on activity effectively conveyed the basic concepts of how stars generate energy through fusion reactions. On August 31, students simulated a simple supernova blast experiment in the lab.
