(CGUHS) Devi Lopez and Amare Pratt were recognized at the Governing Board meeting on Tuesday, December 5. Devi Lopez was named Miss Amerind, and Amare Pratt was named Miss Amerind First Attendant at the Miss Amerind Pageant on Saturday, November 18. The annual Miss Amerind Pageant is to recognize Native American ladies and their cultural relevance. Contestants participate by displaying their modern and traditional dress as well as their modern and traditional talents and are selected by a panel of judges. The royalty will make appearances at tribal and school events throughout the school year. The Amerind Club is advised by Gene Manuel, JOM Student Advisor, and John Garvey, Social Studies Teacher.
