(CGUHS) Friday-Saturday, February 23-24, FFA AgriScience attended the Arizona FFA Spring Conference hosted at The University of Arizona.
First-year members Deztyni Carrillo and Melynda Zettle had the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of Career Development Events and Leadership Development Events, explore the university's campus farm, and tour The University of Arizona main campus.
Deztyni Carrillo auditioned for the AZ FFA Chorus. The results will be announced in March.
The Dairy Evaluation team earned 2nd Place-State: Peyton Elliott (1st Place-Individual), Caden Martinez (1st Place-Dairy Evaluation Highest State Individual Written Test Score and 3rd Place-Individual), Claire Murrieta (9th Place-Individual), and Olivia Vance.
The prior Monday, the Meats Evaluation contest was hosted at Gilbert High School's Meat Lab. The Meats Evaluation team earned 5th Place-State: Kaylynn Jordan, Ian Wilkie (9th Place-Individual), Isaiah Corralejo, and Robert Salas (10th Place-Individual).
The Agricultural Sales team included Thomas Hartman, Summer Partain, Tommy Tarango, and Gunner Manterola.
The Agricultural Mechanics team included Elijah Mount, Cameron Lyons, Ian Elliott, and Colt Buyers.
