(CGUHS) Calagio Franco was recognized Tuesday, March 5, as the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month at the district's Governing Board meeting. Calagio was nominated by his CTE Marketing Teacher Mr. David Carter: “Calagio is a 4-year member of Marketing and DECA Marketing. He has participated in practically all levels of our program including DECA Marketing conferences on district, state, and regional levels. Calagio has always earned top grades in every marketing class he has been in. This year, he is a Marketing Intern. Calagio manages our School Based Enterprise (SBE), the DECA Store, during his internship class. He successfully trains and supervises his staff as well as completes all accounting responsibilities. Calagio can single-handedly manage the store on his own. He is well-deserving of this award. It has been an honor and privilege to have him in our program. I am extremely proud of him!” Calagio’s parents are Mr. Carlos Reyes Franco & Ms. Alexis Bustamante of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,513 students are enrolled in 13 different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District.
