New Elective Opportunity: Sports Officiating Class – Spring 2026
Hello Cougar Families,
Starting January 6, 2026, we are excited to offer a new elective for our students: Sports Officiating.
In this course, students will learn how to officiate a variety of sports. The class will begin with baseball and softball, as they will be in season next semester, providing students with real-world, hands-on experience. By completing this class, students will have the opportunity to earn money as a sports official in the future.
Who is this class for?
Students interested in learning how to become a certified sports official
Athletes and sports fans who want to stay involved in athletics
Students interested in exploring career pathways in sports and athletics
Students seeking flexible job opportunities during high school and beyond

We are proud to share that the Casa Grande Union Varsity Flag Football Team has been selected as this year’s recipient of the AIA Flag Football Sportsmanship Award. This honor is given annually in each conference to the team that demonstrates the highest level of sportsmanship, as voted on by AIA officials. Our players and coaches have represented CGUHSD with exceptional character, respect, and integrity throughout the season.
The team has been invited to receive this award at halftime of the 5A State Championship Game, which will take place on November 23 at Corona Del Sol High School during the 4 PM game.
