My name is Corina Mendoza. I am a native to Arizona and have traveled with my family throughout the United States due to my spouse's military career. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2016 and relocated back to Arizona to empower the youth and families within my community. I have enjoyed working with the youth in my community as a Social Worker over the years but wanted a change. I continued my education at Arizona State University and completed my master’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in History.
We were asked our why. Why did I choose this career and to be here in this district? It is because I wanted to be part of the change in providing our children/youth true authentic learning and build lasting relationships with the students. I emphasize relationships because students are with educators for a good portion of their lives, and I wanted to be able to empower them with the tools and skills that will assist them towards their personalized success.
