CTE Student of the Month
CG-CTEStudentOfMonth202212BarthElla (1)

Ella Barth (CGUHS) was selected as one of the December CTE Students of the Month. Ella was nominated by her CTE Engineering teacher, Mr. John Morris. “Ella is someone whom I have come to rely on to step up and assume a position of leadership and responsibility. She has taken on the elected role of president of SkillsUSA Engineering and hit the ground running this semester. Ella is also the elected President of our Girls Who Code chapter and leads chapter meetings twice a week before school with a group of highly motivated and creative female programmers. She has also taken on the task of electrical hardware assembly for our NASA space grant High Altitude Balloon payload project. I have enjoyed working with Ella on computer engineering projects in Engineering II and Engineering III. Ella has become proficient in binary mathematics, Boolean Algebra, P-N junctions, transistor operating theory, deriving design equations for digital electronics circuits, converting those equations into hardware schematics, and implementing those circuits in transistor-level hardware as digital logic gates, adders, decoders, encoders, registers, and more. Ella is always willing to share her technical knowledge of Python programming in both the Software & App Design and AP Computer Science Principles courses. She has been a valuable teaching assistant this year. It is for these reasons, and many more not discussed here, I have chosen Ella Barth as the CTE Student of the Month for December 2022.” Ella’s parents are Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Barth of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in thirteen different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor. For past recipients, visit www.cguhsd.org/CTE.aspx.
