Ivy Dianna Sotelo was recognized Tuesday, March 7, as the VGHS Career & Technical Education Student of the Month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Ivy was nominated by her CTE Graphic Design teacher, Ms. Amalia Hernandez-Lucero. “Ivy has demonstrated leadership skills in every single project, contest, and fundraiser event. She has shown integrity and is great and therefore deserves to be publicly celebrated. Ivy is always willing to jump in and volunteer to help. She organizes the activities and school projects for her and other intern students. Her leadership has evolved since becoming an officer. She is a very confident leader who is willing to respectfully state her opinion and donate her skills to the betterment of the student association. Last Saturday, at the Regional SkillsUSA conference, her team won the 1st place in the competition Promotional Bulletin Board with hard work, knowledge, and leadership she demonstrated in being a great leader. Ivy is a great example of an all-around Career & Technical Education student.” Ivy’s parent are Mr. Armando Sotelo and Mrs. Yazmin Reicheneker of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in thirteen different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District.
