GRADUATION - May 25 - Football Stadium 8:00 P.M.
Graduates must be in the gym no later than 7:00 P.M.
Graduates are to pick up their diplomas in the small gym AFTER the ceremony.
PARKING
Due to the large crowds at graduation, we suggest you arrive early. Gates will open at 6:00 P.M. Once a parking lot is full the gates will be closed. Handicap parking is available in the south-west parking lot. A Handicap plate or plaque is required to park in the handicap lot. Shuttles will be available to the football stadium for those in need.
NO PARKING
To protect Burrowing Owls and their homes, VGHS Administration put up signs and tape to keep the community from parking in the dirt area across from VGHS. Please do not park in this area or remove the signs and tape. Please park in designated areas only. Thank you for protecting the Burrowing Owls and their homes.
CEREMONY
Guests are asked to treat the ceremony with appropriate dignity and respect. The attention should be on the graduates and not on the people in the audience. Applause is appropriate, but common courtesy needs to be displayed so every graduate’s name is heard. Spectators are expected to be seated in the bleachers throughout the ceremony.
INSIDE THE FOOTBALL STADIUM
No balloons allowed inside the stadium.
No ice chests allowed inside the stadium.
Only clear backpacks/bags are allowed inside the stadium.
Diaper bags are subject to search.
No saving seats in the football stadium.
No smoking or vaping.
GUIDELINES FOR DRESS
Graduation is a dignified event. Graduates should wear semi-formal attire.
YOUNG MEN should wear dress slacks, a collared shirt (tie not required but recommended), dress shoes, and socks. No tennis shoes, flip-flops, or shorts will be allowed.
YOUNG LADIES should wear a dress OR dress pants and dress shoes. No tennis shoes, flip-flops, or shorts will be allowed.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
If there are inclement weather conditions that warrant postponing the ceremony, the event will be changed to Saturday, May 27th at 8:00 P.M.
