Greetings Spartan Parents and Families,

As we approach the much-anticipated graduation ceremony, we would like to share some important guidelines to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely for everyone involved.
Graduation Ceremony Guidelines:

Handicap Parking: Handicap parking will be available behind the bleachers for vehicles that are displaying a current handicap placard or license plate. Patrons entering for graduation will be able to access this parking lot entering north on Arizola Rd.

Keep Aisles Clear: To maintain a safe and orderly environment, please keep all aisles clear during the ceremony. This allows graduates to process in and out of the venue without obstruction and ensures that emergency exits always remain accessible.

Remain Seated: We kindly ask that all guests remain seated throughout the duration of the ceremony. Standing in the aisles or in front of others can block the view for those behind you. We understand the excitement of seeing your graduate cross the stage but remaining seated helps everyone enjoys the event equally.

These guidelines are in place to help create a respectful and enjoyable atmosphere for all graduates and their loved ones. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and essential in making this a memorable event for everyone.

Also, parents, families, and friends WILL NOT be allowed onto the field to see graduates until after the conclusion of the firework show.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to celebrating this special milestone with you.

Mr. Vance L. Danzy
Principal

(VGHS) Key Club will sell concessions during the graduation ceremony on the visitor's side (east of the football field). They are only able to accept cash, and small bills are appreciated. Money raised will support transportation for community service events and send students to their annual leadership convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico, next Spring.

Dear CGUHSD Class of ‘24 Graduates and Graduation Guests,

Congratulations on reaching this significant milestone of graduating from high school, Class of ‘24. This momentous occasion marks the beginning of a new chapter in your life. Our district staff has been diligently planning your graduation, working closely with the Casa Grande Fire and Police Departments to ensure a safe and memorable celebration.

As you plan to attend these celebrations, please keep these essential safety procedures for our graduation celebrations:

Heat:
The weather forecast for both celebrations is sunny and 96 degrees. Please bring plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated outside in the heat. We can also celebrate that it looks like we will not have triple-digit temperatures.

Storms:
Thankfully, the weather forecast is for sunny skies. In the event of steady rain and/or lighting, the plan would be to postpone the graduation celebrations one day. If we have to postpone Union's graduation one day, we will also postpone Vista one day. We would make these announcements at the celebration, through email, and our social media outlets.

Gates Open:
The gates will open to the guests at 6:30 p.m. at both celebrations.

Clear Bag Policy:
We will have a clear bag policy. The following will be permitted: Bags that are clear plastic any size (CG) or not to exceed 12"x6"x12" (VG),  one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags, and small clutch bags or purses do not have to be clear but cannot exceed 4.5”x6.5”.

Seating:
There will be limited seating at both sites. Please remain seated for the entire celebration for the enjoyment and best viewing of all guests. Security officers and Police officers will be enforcing these expectations.

Standing Areas:
There will be designated standing areas off the sides of the bleachers. The areas in front of the bleachers and the crosswalks must be clear so security and emergency personnel can respond to situations.

Police Officers and Security:
Police officers and security will be present to ensure the safety of all guests. Please follow their directives. Failure to follow directives will result in removal from the celebration and potential charges if the police determine your actions violated the law.

Balloons and Other Graduation Celebration Items:
We suggest you present the graduates' celebration balloons and other large items at home, so they don't block other guests' views. Police or security will require any guests with balloons or large items to have those items returned to their vehicle.

Lights Show (CG Union only):
This year the stadiums have new lights, and we will be using multiple colors and performing a light show. If you are sensitive to light shows, we suggest wearing sunglasses or keeping your head down.

Access to the Field After the Celebration:
The field will be open after the formal celebration so guests can congratulate the graduates and take pictures. However, the procedures to access the field will take time as guests cannot line up or bunch up at the entrances to the field during the celebration. Police and security will ensure this will be a safe transition to the field.

We thank you for your courtesy in following these safety procedures at the graduation celebrations. We also thank you for the privilege of serving your family. The district has purchased more chairs to increase seating and jumbo screens to increase visibility. We hope you enjoy these enhancements. We aim to provide a momentous occasion for all graduates and guests. Most importantly, we will do everything we can to ensure your safety.

Best of luck, Class of 2024.

Have a wonderful summer,
Superintendent Jeff Lavender
