CTE Student of the Month
CG-CTEStudentOfMonth202401JayleaHernandez (1)

(CGUHS) Jaylea Hernandez was recognized Tuesday, January 9, as the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting. Jaylea was nominated by her CTE Early Childhood Education Teacher Mrs. Dixie Harvey. “Jaylea is a unique student. She is a quiet leader who takes initiative and makes sure everything is taken care of with the other high school students and for the preschool staff and children. Jaylea is accountable and consistent with her school attendance and the tasks and assignments she needs to complete. She is always on time and often shows up to just help out with a child or two who is having a rough time. Jaylea is a good teacher and cheerfully supports and helps the new high school students in the preschool to learn their responsibilities and how to perform them. I mentioned that she is quiet because she never expects praise. She does the right things for the right reasons. Jaylea is a role model to everyone she meets. She is highly deserving of this award.” Jaylea’s parents are Mr. & Mrs. Johnny Apodaca of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in thirteen different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor. For past recipients, visit https://www.cguhsd.org/CTE.aspx.
