Viva Grande 2015

The community is invited to “Celebrate…Grande Style!” Viva Grande was such a “GRANDE” success we are doing it all over again. The event will feature live entertainment, a mercado with craft and food vendors, salsa challenge, piñata busting, Chihuahua fashion show, a los ninos fun zone, and much more.

National Family Day

The Casa Grande Alliance is coordinating with several local restaurants to promote National Family Day. Research shows, eating together as a family can help prevent substance abuse. It is not about the food being eaten or the location of the meal, but about the conversations and parental engagement that takes place during the meal.

New Az-Merit Testing

In order to ensure all Arizona children have the opportunity to succeed, the Arizona State Board of Education (Board) has announced a new assessment to replace the AIMS Reading, Writing, and Mathematics tests beginning spring 2015. The Board voted and approved that American Institutes for Research (AIR) will provide Arizona’s New Assessment, AzMERIT - Arizona's Measurement of Educational Readiness to Inform Teaching.

State of AZ Tax Credit

Take advantage of the School Tax Credit.  How to Make a Donation:  Select a school (or schools if you want to split your donation) and the program you would like to assist. If you don’t designate a program, your contribution will be applied to the school’s general fund for extracurricular program. You may mail or deliver your contribution to the school bookstore. Donations must be postmarked by December 31.

Gear Up Works!

Arizona GEAR UP is an innovative college access program that works.  The numbers tell the story: 75% of Gear Up students graduate high school and go onto college – a number that is more than double the Arizona average.  Created in 1999 through a federal grant, GEAR UP is aimed specifically at students from low-income communities statewide. Because of GEAR UP's track record of success, the grant was renewed in 2012; Arizona GEAR UP is in the second year of the seven-year grant cycle. 

Early Start program through CAC

CAC First Step Program! First Step is a summer program for Pinal County high school students completing their sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school. This program allows high school students to enroll in college courses before graduating from high school. Students who enroll in this program may enroll in up to 7 college credits and receive a tuition waiver! Visit CAC for more information
