Master Sergeant Hazzard began his Marine Corps career in 1973 at Parris Island S.C. During his time of service, he has served as a Squad leader, Section Chief, Sergeant of the Guard on barrack duty, NCOIC of Recruiting Sub Stations, Recruiting Instructor, and NCOIC of MEPS. His duty stations include North Carolina, Camp Pendleton CA, Okinawa, Japan, Quantico VA and Cleveland, Ohio. He also served on the Marine Corps rifle shooting team and he’s a Distinguished Marksman. He retired in 1996, and began teaching at East H.S. in Akron, OH for 5 years. He helped start the JROTC program here at Casa Grande Union H.S. in August of 2000.
