AOI Business Math with Algebra

Course Description

Business Math with Algebra courses teach and have students apply algebra concepts to a variety of business and financial situations. Applications usually include income, insurance, credit, banking, taxation, stocks and bonds, and finance. Students will become fluent with Excel spreadsheets to work with computation and simulation of mathematical concepts. Concepts covered include investigating properties of exponential functions, developing skills in manipulating exponential expressions, solving problems and investigating financial applications involving compound interest and annuities, and applying mathematics in informed decisions about personal finances, consumer options, and investments. This course meets the rigor and requirements of a senior-level math course as identified in the Arizona Common Core Standards.
