This course is intended for students who have taken the AP Spanish Language course or wish to further develop their reading and writing skills through the study of seven centuries of Hispanic literature. This course focuses on poetry analysis, thematic analysis, and text analysis of medieval and Golden Age literature, nineteenth-century literature, and twentieth-century literature of the Spanish-speaking world. Students will be exposed to a wide variety of genres and types of discourse and acquainted with significant works that have become sources for literature and art worldwide. Students must pass the AP Spanish Literature Exam offered at the end of the second semester for college credit. There is an additional fee for the A.P. Spanish Literature Exam. This class earns weighted credit.
