CG-ScienceInvestigativeScienceLayersOfTheEarth20221129 (4)
On Tuesday, November 29, CGUHS Investigative Science students conducted a lab activity “Layers of the Earth” in which they performed a science inquiry using different models that represented layers of the earth. Students were able to identify and describe layers of earth using water (outer core - only liquid layer of the earth), sphere (inner core - solid layer of the earth that represents by the shape of the material), playdough ( mantle - semi solid layer of the earth), and dirt (crust - characterized by soil and sand). For data analysis, they were able to graph the temperature of each layer and describe its composition. The activity was administered and monitored by Ms. Joannet Patun-og and Ms. Carmela Ash who both teach Investigative Science. Visit the Science Department at www.cguhsd.org/cgScience.aspx.
