Arizona Cardinals Host Combine

The Arizona Cardinals hosted a combine at Vista Grande High School on Wednesday, April 26, for student players as part of an award received from the Dairy Council of Arizona. A combine tests athletic skills including speed, power, strength, and agility. Bryanna Leone, Manager of Wellness & Nutrition Education, presented a check for $10,000 to the Casa Grande Union High School District to be used to promote healthy bodies and minds through food and exercise. Cedric Collins, Vista Grande teacher and coach, has been highly involved in the Fuel Up To Play 60 program for many years and credits former VG principal, Glenda Cole, and current principal, Vance Danzy, for their support. Riczer Desvaristes, Manager of Youth Football for the Arizona Cardinals, and Horace Raymond, Director of Community Relations, coordinated the event with four former Cardinals players who ran drills and gave tips and advice to the students. Cardinal alums were our very own Michael Bankston, Rick Cunnigham, Anthony Edwards, and Ben Patrick. Thank you to all involved in making this happen!
