CG-SkillsUSAConstructionTechnologiesStateChampionships20230412 (4)

On April 11-12, fourteen (14) of Casa Grande Union's most skilled construction students attended the SkillsUSA State Championship. Competing in Construction Tech (2-person team event), Electrical Wiring, Masonry, Plumbing, and Team Works (4-person event), the Cougars demonstrated their craft among the best trades students in the state and it showed. While waiting on several scores, Cade Riggs and Asanti Santilli earned 1st Place in Construction Tech. This was the first time CGUHS had ever won this competition. Albert Rodriguez earned 1st Place in Plumbing. He is the first CGUHS student to win this award and is only in his sophomore year of the program. Other attendees who worked hard to represent our program: [Construction Tech] Caden Rodman and Aiden Vannucci; [Electrical Wiring] Enrique Engstrom, Zander Moore, and Mason Padovese; [Masonry] Abaraham Landeros and Juan Valdez; and [Team Works] Colt Byers, Cooper Dale, Hannah Hartman, and Tom Hartman. Thank you to all the teachers who support the students in their interest and help develop their academic skills in support of the trades. The Cougars are advised by Mike Wagner, CTE Construction Technologies Teacher. Visit their webpage at https://www.cguhsd.org/cgSkillsUSAConstruction.aspx.
