Biology: Mitosis & Cell Division
CG-ScienceBiologyBradyStacy20221207 (3)
To review the process of mitosis and cell division, sophomore students in Mrs. Brady's Biology classes made models out of Oreo cookies and sprinkles. Student’s used one (1) cookie to model each of the different stages of mitosis. They used the sprinkles to represent the chromosomes. Students took pictures of their creations then used them to create a PowerPoint explaining the major events of each stage. This activity was collaborative. Students had to work with a partner to complete the project and it helped them to remember what happens in each stage. When students were done, the best part was to eat their creations.
