Savanah Halbert of Casa Grande High School (CGUHS) was recognized on Tuesday, September 28, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s CGUHS Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting. Savanah was nominated by Maj. Rob Sherwood and Gunnery Sgt. Jesus Flores, CGUHS JROTC Marine Corps Instructors, who had this to say about her: “Savanah is one of our supply cadets and part of our drill team. She is a dedicated, cheerful, and hardworking cadet who performs all her duties in an accurate and enthusiastic manner. She performs in a superior manner which became quite evident during periods she was called to assume several different billets.” Savanah’s grandmother is Vicki Hatten of Casa Grande. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in 15 different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor. For more information about the CTE program, visit www.cguhsd.org/cgCTE.aspx.
