Josue Calderon of Vista Grande High School was recognized Tuesday, March 1, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s VGHS Rotary Club of Casa Grande Student of the Month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Josue was recognized for his accomplishments and activities: GPA (4.5), Academic Achievement Award (4-Yr), NROTC Scholarship, Symphonic Band (3-Yr), Jazz Band (3-Yr), Link Crew (Commissioner), Key Club, SAAC, National Honors Society, and Volunteer (Church’s Sound Booth). In addition, he has visited fifteen (15) states, including Montana, Alaska, and New York, and can play the alto saxophone. After high school, he plans to attend Arizona State University (ASU) to study Electrical Engineering. From there, he will be commissioned as an officer in the Navy. Josue’s mother is Maribel Buelna.
