Nuriah Perea of Vista Grande High School (VGHS) was recognized Tuesday, April 5, as the Casa Grande Union High School District’s VGHS Rotary Club of Casa Grande Student of the Month during the district’s Governing Board meeting. Nuriah was recognized for her accomplishments and activities: Student Body President; Key Club Historian; Link Crew Member; Varsity Track and Field Thrower; National Honor Society (NHS) Member; Principal’s Honor Roll (4-Yr); 1,200 Community Service Hours (4-Yr); Southwest District Secretary-Treasurer (2-Yr); and Robert F. Lucas Outstanding Lieutenant Governor Award (1-Yr). This Fall, she will major in Public Service and Public Policy at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University (ASU). Nuriah plans to pursue a career in Public Relations or local politics. Her personal goal is to open a non-profit organization for first-generation, low-income (FGLI) students targeting young girls to give them the resources to succeed and make changes within their communities.
