Mia Mooring of Vista Grande High School (VGHS) was recognized Tuesday, April 5, as one of the Casa Grande Union High School District’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) Students of the Month at the district’s Governing Board meeting. Mia was nominated by her CTE Marketing Teacher, Ms. Lisa Horsley, who had this to say, “Mia is a natural born leader who takes a lead role in both DECA, as the acting President, and our DECA Student Store. Throughout the year, Mia has been an active leader in the development and growth of our DECA Store. She has been essential during our planning, opening, and daily operations of the store. She knows how to operate a business successfully while understanding how important it is to support the new and upcoming DECA Store trainees. Mia is also involved in sports and other activities at Vista Grande High School. I am certain that Mia is going to continue to do great things in her future.” Mia’s grandparent is Ms. Sarah Mooring of Casa Grande, Arizona. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in fifteen different Career & Technical Education programs throughout the Casa Grande Union High School District. Each month, a different CTE program nominates a deserving student for this honor. For more information about the VGHS CTE program, visit www.cguhsd.org/vgCTE.aspx.
