Merlin D’souza of Casa Grande Union High School and Ricardo Gomez of Vista Grande High School received awards and scholarships from the Future Voices Association, a nonprofit organization that aims to cultivate leadership in the community and project it forward. Applicants were required to provide several examples of leadership experience in their lives as well as their plans to employ leadership techniques in their continuing education and career development. Merlin and Ricardo each received a $1,000 scholarship which is only granted to (1) CGUHS senior and (1) VGHS senior of the current graduating class. An awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 19.
