RE:  Summer School 2021

Dear CGUHSD Parents and Guardians,

Summer school will officially begin on Monday, May 24, 2021, and will be held in-person only at Vista Grande High School for both CGUHS and VGHS students. Summer school will run for three weeks, Monday, May 24 - Thursday, May 27, Tuesday, June 1 - Friday, June 4 and Monday, June 7 – June 10. Summer school class schedule will be from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm daily with breakfast available for all students at 8:00 am and a “grab and go” lunch provided at 1:00 pm for those students who request one. Transportation to and from summer school will be available for those students who need to ride the bus. To find the bus stop nearest to your location, please call Durham Transportation at (520) 836- 8735.  Attendance is mandatory for the successful completion of courses. Students who acquire two absences during the summer school session may result in the student being dropped from the summer school session. Students will be held to the CGUHSD academic and behavioral expectations as outlined in our student handbook. Masks will continue to be required for all students while on school campus. Any disruptive behavior or insubordination could result in the student being sent home for the day and could also result in that student being dropped from the summer school session.

We know that during the pandemic, this last school year has been difficult for many of our students, and we are happy to be able to offer this opportunity for students to get back on track and to make up credits that were not earned. We hope this summer school session is a very productive one for all of our students who choose to take advantage of this opportunity.

Thank you,
Steve Bebee
